Hess Corporation has earned leadership status, the highest category, on the prestigious CDP Global Climate List. Hess was among the top-ranking energy producers on the list.

In his first visit to the United States since the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) announced plans to cut production late last month, Secretary General Mohammad Barkindo joined Hess CEO John Hess at a Washington, D.C. forum to discuss oil market trends.

A recent article published by the Laborers’ Health & Safety Fund of North America highlights Hess’ commitment to safety even beyond industry standards.

Upstream reported on Nov. 18 that the Stampede Development had achieved a major milestone with the safe and successful installation of the topsides facility, while sticking to its target of delivering first oil in 2018.

Hess Corporation announced positive results from the Payara-1 well offshore Guyana, which is the second oil discovery on the Stabroek Block following the world-class Liza oil discovery in 2015.

Hess Corporation has been recognized as one of the Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations for the third time by the Toronto-based media and investment research firm Corporate Knights. The 2017 list was announced at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

E&P Magazine featured Stampede as its February 2017 cover story on “Innovation through Collaboration.” The article examined how Hess and Heerema Marine Contractors collaborated to install 12 piles in 12 days leveraging Lean thinking to create value and improve safety, quality, delivery and cost.

A Subsea Engineering News article reported that “Stampede stays on track for 2018 first oil” and provided updates on the Stampede and North Malay offshore development projects.

The energy industry’s lack of investment in offshore long-cycle projects is bound to create a widening gap between supply and demand by 2020, Hess CEO John Hess recently told a gathering of energy industry leaders, experts, government officials and policymakers in Houston.
