Hess, ExxonMobil and CNOOC Limited, co-venturers in offshore oil development in the Stabroek Block, partnered with the University of Guyana to provide funding for Zoom Rooms that will connect thousands of students with quality education.
This program is established as part of the Greater Guyana Initiative, a 10-year commitment of more than US$100million to support education, improve healthcare and promote sustainable economic development.
Hess congratulates the recipients of this year’s Hess Corporation Scholarship managed by the Greater Houston Community Foundation. Six graduating seniors from Austin and Yates high schools have earned full funding to pursue their dreams of a college education. Hess will now support 11 students overall this fall. We proudly support Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner’s Complete Communities Initiative to make a positive, lasting impact in under-resourced neighborhoods.
Hess Malaysia pledged support for disadvantaged families in Kelantan through a food aid program in collaboration with private charity organization MyKasih Foundation. Under the “MyKasih Love My Neighborhood” food aid program, Hess’ contribution will help approximately 200 families in Kampung Pasir Linggi purchase essential supplies for the next six months.
Hess has announced a $1.4 million grant to the Jackie Robinson Foundation as part of its longstanding commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. The grant will be used to support the new Jackie Robinson Museum which will serve as a venue for innovative educational programming and dialogue on critical social issues, and to provide four-year scholarships and support services to 5 underrepresented college students as part of the JRF Scholarship Program. Hess will also provide internship opportunities for JRF Scholars, with a goal of five Hess JRF Scholar internships per year starting in 2022.
Hess announced today a 3-year, $9-million investment to fund educational programs and support services for children in economically disadvantaged Houston communities as part of Mayor Sylvester Turner’s Complete Communities Initiative. The Hess Learning for Life Partnership will benefit 22 schools and more than 13,000 children from pre-K through high school.

Hess provided funding to Prairie Grit Therapy to help purchase therapy equipment and needed supplies for the clinic. Located in the Minot YMCA, Prairie Grit Therapy is an inclusive and adaptive recreational and therapeutic facility. The environment provides opportunities for children living with physical and mental disabilities to enhance their quality of life.
Eight North Dakota 4-H and FFA high school seniors have been selected to receive a combined total of $40,000 in scholarships from Hess Corporation awarded through the North Dakota State Fair Foundation. All awardees are pursuing secondary education or training related to or in support of the oil and gas industry.
Hess is awarding ten $500 grants to selected North Dakota 4-H Clubs and National FFA Organization Chapters in partnership with the North Dakota State Fair Foundation. The awarded organizations will use the grants for their annual community service projects and provide a display of their project at the 2021 North Dakota State Fair.
Hess partnered with the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation to distribute more than 15,000 new books as part of the Spring 2021 My Home Library campaign to elementary students in our six Houston LEAP schools. We are proud to support the power of literacy by providing nearly 2,500 students with new books to help grow their home library and build a lifelong love of reading.
