Hess Corporation has earned leadership status, the highest category, on the prestigious CDP Global Climate List. Companies on the list received high scores across four levels of assessment in the advancement of environmental stewardship. Hess was among the top-ranking energy producers on the list. CDP is an international non-profit group seeking to drive sustainable economies. This year, on behalf of 827 investors who represent $100 trillion in assets, thousands of companies representing approximately 60% of global market capitalization submitted disclosures to CDP.
“We are proud to be included in the Global Climate List and recognized as a leader in addressing climate-related risks and opportunities,” said Alex Sagebien, Vice President, Environmental, Health and Safety for Hess. “Hess is committed to helping meet the world’s growing energy needs in a safe, environmentally responsible, socially sensitive and profitable way.”
CDP has adopted a new scoring methodology that uses a four-step approach to measure a company’s progress in addressing environmental issues: disclosure and transparency in responses, awareness of climate-related issues and risks, management through implementation of actions, policies and strategies, and leadership in which a company has taken steps and represents best practice in the field of environmental management.
