Hess Corporation recently earned The Rocky Mountain Oil & Gas Awards 2016 Award for Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility for its operations in the North Dakota Bakken.
The award is given to the company with a social responsibility program that best demonstrates its "ethical, environmental, and social benefit to all of society's stakeholders, the environment and the community."
“Supporting communities where we live and operate is part of our long-term vision and goals,” said Steve McNally, General Manager, Bakken. “It’s great seeing our team in the Bakken recognized by the Rocky Mountain Oil & Gas Awards for their commitment to high standards of corporate citizenship.”
Bakken Regulatory Manager Vicky Sund and Bakken Operational Competency Specialist Julie Vetter were on hand in Denver on March 23 to receive the award for Hess’s 2015 corporate social responsibility program in North Dakota.
The award requires that the winner demonstrate that its social responsibility credentials go beyond the commercial interests of the company.
Hess views corporate social responsibility as a way of doing business, enhancing its ability to be an effective, profitable and trusted energy partner. By proactively engaging with the communities where Hess operates, the company showed it can maximize its business value while managing social risks and impacts and creating opportunities for stakeholders.
Hess’s programs in North Dakota continue to focus on providing support to the Bakken region, specifically in areas of greatest need identified by the communities where employees live and work. Those 2015 programs that were recognized by the Rocky Mountain Oil & Gas Awards support affordable daycare, education, emergency services and children’s programs.
